Question

dumping process

I've searched all the previous questions, followed all the links I could find, and looked at all the available videos near as I can tell. I still don't see anything that comes close to showing the dumping process in detail. I want to see it from the time I back into a dump spot and get off the tractor, to the point the box is emptied. What happens in between is extremely important in understanding just how much work this saves (or doesn't). If there is such a video I'd like to see it and if there isn't, why not? Thanks!!

Our 13.74 Pro-XL model will work well for your application, as it offers the suction needed to pick up nuts. Whatever material your mower deck can lift, the Leaf and Lawn Vacuum will suck the debris through the impeller, pulverize it and turn it into mulch before being blown into the collection box.

The impeller on the vacuum features 5 blades with serrated teeth for cutting debris into tiny pieces and carries a lifetime warranty against bending or breaking.

We also offer the optional handheld vacuum hose that offers even more concentrated suction for picking up nuts.

The DR 13.74 Pro-XL Leaf and Lawn Vacuum will work very well with your Simplicity Legacy with the 60 inch deck. However, you will need to purchase the deck boot from your Simplicity dealer as our Universal Deck Boot will only work on right discharge decks.

The Tow-Behind DR Leaf and Lawn Vacuum will work with most conventional-style riding lawn tractors that have a front, mid or belly-mounted lawn deck. All models can be attached to tractors with a 14 HP minimum, however, operating a 14 HP tractor with the DR restricts its use to level terrain.

To help determine whether the DR Leaf and Lawn Vacuum is compatible with your mower, please review the list of questions below. This information will also help you decide which model is appropriate for your riding mower.

1. What is the Cutting Width of your mower? For front mounted lawn mowers - 54" or greater you will need to take smaller swath. If the deck cutting width is greater than 54", greater amounts of discharged material could cause the DR to clog, so mowing smaller swaths is recommended.

2. Do you currently have a bagging or collection system for your lawn mower? If you do, is the diameter of the boot’s discharge opening between 6" and 8"? The blower inlet hose on the DR measures 6" in diameter, but we also have adapters for boots with diameters of up to 8" (included at no charge). If you do not, our Universal-Fit Mower Deck Boot, can be modified to fit lawn decks that have a discharge opening up to 6" high by 19" wide. If our Universal-Fit Mower Deck Boot will not fit with your mower’s lawn deck, you may be able to locate a boot by contacting the manufacturer or local dealer of your mower.

3. Do you have a pin hitch on the back of your tractor between 5" and 20" from the ground?
If not a.)Is there a secure place on the back of your tractor to mount a hitch plate?
If you are in need of a Hitch Plate or opted for the Dual Point Hitch Kit
b.)What is the distance between the rear wheels on your mower?

4. What is the distance from the back opening of the discharge on the lawn mower to the back of the furthest point of the back of the tractor? If the distance is 40" or less, our standard blower inlet hose will be sufficient. However, if this distance is between 41" and 7', then our optional Hose Extension Kit is required. If the distance is greater than 7', the mower is too large to be used with the DR.

If you have more questions, please contact our Sales Team at Toll Free 1-888-550-0062 and a Sales Rep will be happy to help you. Sales summer hours are Monday thru Friday, 8 am to 8 pm, Saturday, 8:30 am to 5 pm, and Sunday, 9 am to 5:30 pm, Eastern Time. Thank you.

The 13.74 Pro XL will certainly work the best, but all the models will work great on your 19.5 Dixon Zero Turn with a 42 " deck. The Pro model's have the larger holding capacity as well as the Chipper attachment which is great with handling the branches that will be on the ground.
With the zero turn mower, I would also recommend the Dual Point Hitch, but there are types of properties that it would be best to stay with a single pin hitch.
Please give us a call at 1-888-550-0062 and speak to one of our sales rep's that help you pick the right model for your need's

I think it would handle dry manure very well.
You wouldn't want to use it with wet manure because that would stick to the inner surfaces and just clog up the machine.

The 13.74 DR Pro-XL Leaf and Lawn Vacuum adds a lot of suction to your mowing deck providing a much cleaner lawn. It also reduces the leafs and grass clipping's 10 to 1, giving it a longer run time before it will need to be emptied.

The Pro XL will work great on your Xmark mower with the 60 inch cut. We recommend the Dual Point Hitch Kit with all zero turn mowers.

It picks up grass very well.
The drier the grass the better job it does, also wet grass tends to stick inside the hoses and machine which can be a pain to clean out if it clogs up/
I have used mine on fresh cut (not wet) and dried grass with great results.
Mine is used with a Bad Boy 36 HP, 61" cut zero turn mower.

I AM LOOKING A "SELF-CONTAINED" YARD VAC, ONE THAT DOES NOT REQUIRE A LAWN MOWER DECK TO CUT AND LIFT MATERIAL WITH CAPACITY OF PRO-XL.

Our Tow-Behind Leaf and Lawn Vacuums can be towed behind an ATV, golf cart or pick-up truck, but you would need to use the hand-held vacuum hose to vacuum the debris into the container.
We do offer a Tow-Behind Lawn Sweeper that can be towed behind your lawn tractor. It holds up to 26 cubic feet, great for cleaning up leaves, twigs, and grass clippings from your lawn or driveway.

The Lawn Sweeper can be viewed at the following web link:

I have given some thought to designing and building an attachment for just this purpose myself, for use with my vacuum. If you are handy with tools and have the place and tools/materials to work with, I think you could easily fabricate a "wide mouth" vacuum attachment and fasten it up under the trailer tongue or elsewhere for this purpose. I also plan to attach either some brushes or tines to the back side of the attachment's opening to help lift leaves and debris into it.

You could also just build some supports and use tarp straps to hold the hose on your mower. I'm using mine with a Bad Boy Outlaw XP that has a 36 HP engine and a 61" cut. Being larger than most zero turn mowers, I had to lengthen the hose a good bit and build a hose support as I described to attach the vacuum to the mower. I used 1/2" steel rod fastened to the mower and bent to hold the hose out away from the mower. The tarp strap being stretchable allows the hose to move as I turn either way, keeps it supported, off the ground and out of harms way.

why is the plastic chute that feeds up from the vacum to the hopper not made of metal.

I bought the pro xl vacum in nov. of 2012 and use it in my lawncare buissness. Ive been through 2 of these chutes that go from the shredder to hopper due to cracking and seperation at various points. why wasnt this part made out of the same metal as the housing for the shredder unit? also ive been through 2 suction hoses that run from the mower deck to the vacum due to holes. any chance dr will make them out of something other than the plastic vinyl they are using now.

Unboxed weights of the Tow-Behind Leaf & Lawn Vacs:

- Premier Model = 310 lbs (245 gl container, holds 30.6 bushels)
- Pro Model = 325 lbs (306 gl container, holds 38.25 bushels)
- Pro XL Model = 332 lbs (306 gl container, holds 38.25 bushels)

The horsepower of the mower should be a minimum of 14 HP. You should also check the towing weight limitation of your lawn tractor. This information can be found in your lawn tractor's A&O Manual.

By not using the Tow-Behind Leaf and Lawn Vacuum with your lawn tractor, you will be giving up a lot of vacuum poential by not utilizing its major design feature. Whatever material your mower deck can lift, the Leaf and Lawn Vacuum will suck the debris through the impeller and mulch it. The mower blades provide a good portion of the reduction for the Tow-Behind Vacuum.
If you choose to tow the Vacuum behind an ATV you will need to purchase the hand held Vacuum Hose Attachment in order to to pick up the debris. The hand held Vacuum Hose attaches to the inlet hose.

The largest machine will have the suction to do the job. You will definitely want to use the Vacuum with your lawn mower deck rather than manually vacuuming so that the mowers blades will reduce their size. Since the hose is 6" in diameter, a 7" cone may clog the hose.

Unfortunately, we do not offer a floating attachment that mounts on the Leaf and Lawn Vacuum. There is a vacuum hose attachment that will extend the hose to about 20 feet which would work well on the ditch.

To help determine whether the DR LEAF and LAWN VACUUM is compatible with your mower, please review the list of questions below. This information will also help you decide which model is appropriate for your riding mower.

1. What is the Cutting Width of your mower? For front mounted lawn mowers 54" or greater you will need to take smaller swaths.

If the distance is 40 inches or less, our standard blower inlet hose will be sufficient. However, if this distance is between 41 inches and 7 feet, then our optional Hose Extension Kit is required. If the distance is greater than 7 feet, the mower is too large to be used with the DR.
