The DR Burn Cage will blow over in high winds so we do recommend a couple of "stake's" to hold it in place, but we do not recommend having a fire on windy day's. The 16 guage "439" stainless steel is rated for 1,600 degrees and can withstand up to 2,000 degrees. The unboxed dimensions are 20" x 20" w x 35" h and weighs 52 lbs.

Wind generally won't blow it over. The cage is sturdy enough that unless you have gale force winds, it should be fine. The cage isn't that heavy but it is solid. My wife moves it easily enough when it's empty. Not sure about staking, probably could.

They don't blow over. If you really wanted you could drill holes in the feet and steak if you so desired. It weighs enough and has a wide enough foot print that it doesn't blow over.

There are no plans to offer a protective cover for the Burn Cage, the dimensions are 35" x 20" x 20" if considering a tarp or some other type of covering for it.

The Burn Cage is a safe and efficient way to burn certain debris, but pine needles need to be on the dry side to ensure it flames quickly and efficiently. They should never be allowed to smolder or generate excessive smoke.
You will want to contact your local authorities to check if burning pine needles is permitted. Most cities and towns have a pre-approved burn list to avoid buring prohibitive debris.

16% of the surface area on the Burn Cage is vented to allow for more oxygen for an efficient and intense burn. It is rated for 1600 degrees (can withstand in excess of 2000 degrees). If the grass clippings are green and full of moisture, you could carefully add them incrementally to the fire.

You will want to check with your local authorities before you begin to use the Burn Cage to find out if there are any special burning requirements, as laws for outside burning vary from state to state.
It is always recommended to clear an area around the Burn Cage down to bare soil or gravel. There is an optional ash catcher that can be installed at the bottom of the Cage if the surface is concrete or dirt, it reduces the chance of leaving a scorched mark.
